After leaving university I was given a place on the MI5 intelligence data and analysis development programme. During this time, I was briefly stationed at Porton Down, the government science and tech facility. This was my first exposure to some of the files you’ll find in the evidence folder, including several reverse-engineering projects and materials studies - though at the time, my security clearance prevented me from knowing the origin of the objects in question. After completing my training, I worked in army procurement for two years, before being recruited to covert defence unit, DI55.

DI55

I'd first come across DI55 whilst working at Porton Down. The department was brought in to manage the fall out from a recent weapons test malfunction which claimed the lives of five technicians, and left dozens more critically injured. While the description of the weapon itself was redacted, the cause of death in every case was listed as internal vaporisation. Using illicit tactics, the DI55 unit ensured that the story stayed under wraps.

So needless to say, when I was invited to interview for the job, I had a lot of concerns. Within the intelligence services, DI55 was synonymous with operational overreach and dodgy dealings. I’d seen first hand the work the unit was involved in and frankly, the idea of being associated with anything like that filled me with dread.

But it also filled me with curiosity, and the pay was good, so I went to the interview.

What I discovered 

​

After a hefty vetting process and several rounds of interrogation, I started my new role – and over the next five years I was familiarised with things that are altogether completely unfamiliar. Things that are going to be revealed to you across this site, my socials, and of course – the audio files. The DI55 unit was a dynamic, cutting-edge subdivision of military intelligence launched in the aftermath of a mass-casualty event that took place in 1951, when a hostile non-terrestrial enemy launched an attack on the people of Surrey and the surrounding area. The incident, in official documents and on my page, is referred to as The War of the Worlds. Over the coming months, I was briefed on the incident itself as well as the ongoing cover-up, which I myself was involved in maintaining.

 

Why I decided to come forward

For a long time, I was content with my work and genuinley believed that our effort to keep this hidden was in the public interest and instrumental to national security. However, recent concerning developments have forced me to reconsider my position.

 

So, I’m going to tell you the truth, the truth about what happened, and what I believe is going to happen again.

​

The entire archive that I plan to release consists of over thirteen hundred unredacted items, including photographs, witness statements, recovered machinery and biological specimens.
